10-25-18

Little Rock, AR is the home of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park.  Gary and I are trying to visit as many presidential homes or centers as we can in our travels.

We saw an exact replica of the Clinton Oval Office but were not allowed to take pictures in there.  One mystery was cleared up for me, though.  Whenever we see Trump on TV there is always a rack of circles behind him.  I learned they are commemorative coins of various military organizations.  I swear I thought they were K-cups and always wondered why he thought that was a good place to keep them.

There was a display of American Arts and Crafts that Hillary had sponsored.

Here were some of my favorites.

There were many gifts sent by private citizens and dignitaries from around the world.

Bill's saxophones and Hillary's inaugural ball gown were displayed.
These columns held blue cardboard boxes full of correspondence from people who asked the President for help.  It is estimated that the boxes displayed here represent about 2% of all the letters he received.
An example of a table set for a State Dinner.
Here is where we had our State Dinner.  The Fried Pie Shop.  I've never seen another place like it.
