10-24-18
Today we left Oklahoma City.  Above is the skyline of the city.

We stayed at the Mustang Run RV Park.  It was modern, had concrete sites with real grass in between and it was the first park we have ever stayed in that had three storm cellars in case of tornadoes.

There was public art to enjoy.

This is supposed to be a representation of the scissortail bird, the state bird of Oklahoma.
This was one of many murals we saw.  It was under a railroad track.
We ate at two of the iconic restaurants in OKC, Cattleman's Steakhouse and Earl's Rib Palace.

We saw the Boathouse district where Olympic athletes are trained for boating sports.

By far the most impressive site we visited was the collection of 42 bronze sculptures depicting the Land Run of 1889.  It was put in place to celebrate the 100th birthday of Oklahoma in 2007 and is still being added to today. There will be 3 more statues included.  The Land Run was meant to distribute the unclaimed land in the west.  More than 50,000 people lined up along the border of the territory and at a signal at noon on April 22, they ran, rode and cycled quickly to be the first to claim parcels of land.  It was the first of 7 runs of its kind to settle the west.

We crossed the border into Arkansas and are staying in the woods at Park Ridge RV Campground near Van Buren, AR.  Tomorrow we will go to Conway.
