10-17-18

This was a travel day. We went from Albuquerque to Tucumcari, NM for just one night.  Lots of times when we do this, we don't unhitch the truck from the Airstream so we can get a quick start the next morning.  It is also a good opportunity to do a few loads of laundry.

Good news.  Jazzy has adjusted to traveling and no longer needs Dramamine.  This makes our lives much easier because it was only safe for her to take it for two days in a row.  We had scheduled our travel days around her health.

Today we saw our first tumbleweed of the trip.

We also saw the Rio Grande, which was so low on water I thought it should be called Rio Poco.  (I've been studying a little Spanish each day.)

On the road we saw several thought-provoking signs:

One said Chinese Massage - $29.95 - Truck Parking Available.

Another said Clean Bathrooms - We'll Save a Seat for You.

A third was for the Quackenbush Law Firm, which made me laugh.

We also saw an overpass painted pink with a ribbon on it for the cure.

It is in the low 40s here and with the wind and rain make it bitter cold.  We shopped for  knitted hats and gloves, which we had not thought we would need on this trip.

The Central Time Zone is really good for TV.  All the shows are an hour earlier and over by 10:00.  This is very good for old folks.  Last night we slept 9 hours.
