Today is "Turnover Day" for us, we have started heading west toward home.  We also passed 5000 miles we have driven since leaving Lake Oswego, OR on June 13th.

Just outside of Dumfries, VA we saw signs for the Jiffy Lube Live Amphitheater.  Would you want to see a show there?  Everything is sponsored these days!

Driving up Interstate 81 we passed Exit 283 to Woodstock.  The pull to Camp Strawderman was very strong.  I know all of my fellow former campers and counselors who read this blog will understand. However, we knew we couldn't pull the TrailBayser through the creek into camp or up the substantial incline on the back road.  For the rest of you, this camp is where my mother and later, my two sisters and I went to camp every summer for years.  We stayed for two months and loved it so much that it is hard to explain to those who have never experienced it.  The last day of camp each summer was a huge cry-fest and we have stayed connected to the friends we made there ever since we left in the 60's.  The last time I was there was 12 years ago for the 75th anniversary of the camp.

We ate lunch in New Market.  We parked in front of Johnny Appleseed's restaurant.

The Virginia mountains are gorgeous, as usual and we have enjoyed the scenery so much.  I will not miss this heat and humidity, though.   We are heading for Louisville in the next few days.
