Before leaving Ashland we were able to connect with one more old camp friend, Leah B.  We agreed to meet for breakfast at Ashland Coffee and Tea.  I tried to open the door of the restaurant and it was locked.  Gary had noticed that the front was around the block, so we walked around.  Leah did the exact same thing.  She texted us to meet her at another place next door.  Finally, we found each other and had a lovely reunion.

We drove to Shenandoah Hills RV Resort in Madison, VA, a very nice RV park with too many rules.  It wanted $5 per person if you had a visitor, so we discouraged our friends from visiting us.  Instead we went to their home in Reva, VA.

Mary Anne and Bill W. were the couple who introduced Gary and me to each other.  Gary was a fishing buddy of Bill's and Mary Anne and I worked together teaching at Groveton High School in Fairfax County.  The rest is history and we spent two happy days reminiscing and laughing.
Today Mary Anne took me to Montpelier, the home of James and Dolley Madison.  It has been beautifully restored but is still a work in progress.  It was a great tour and I have a much better understanding of their lives because of it.  I'm so glad we went.
On the way back to their house from the tour we went by a local church which had four of these stiles around it so people could mount and dismount horses and get in and out of carriages.  What a great idea!
