12-13-18

The mighty Mississippi.  We saw it through the raindrops yesterday on our way from Foley, AL to Ponchatoula, LA.  We stayed at a beautiful campground with a small water park in it called Reunion Lake RV Park.  Of  course, the water park was closed but the owner told us he is completely full all summer with families.
This guy hanging out of the car in front of us showed us a lot more than his head and arm.  We were in a long traffic jam because of an accident and he was having a fit.  Twice he got out of the car to see if he could ascertain what was happening.  Both times his shorts fell almost all the way off and we got an eyeful.  I didn't have my phone ready to capture the view.

It took about five hours to drive through the heavy rain and traffic to Sulphur, LA.  It should have been more like three.

Louisiana ought to be ashamed of the state of its roads.  We were driving a major artery, I-10 and there were so many places without any surface at all over the rocky roadbed.  This was especially true west of New Orleans.  We were bounced all over the place and all of the clothes in our back closets were off the racks by the time we got to our destination.  A vehicle could be damaged on this road.  Someone needs to sue!!
