We woke up at Base Camp RV Park in Lakeview, OR to see the field outside of the trailer full of prairie dogs.  I couldn't believe how many there were.  As soon as I stepped outside with the dogs, one of them gave a shrill warning whistle and they all dove into their holes.  It was amazing.

On the road from Lakeview to Sparks, NV we passed a town called Likely, CA.  Some of the names on the trip have been so amazing.  We drove through the Modoc Wildlife Refuge where we saw many deer and lots more prairie dogs.  The desert scenery was beautiful.

One of the most interesting things we saw today was a Shoe Tree.  Hundreds of people have thrown a pair of sneakers, tied together, into this tree.  The picture below was taken from the web because there was no place to stop and take a picture ourselves.
We reached Sparks Marina RV Park just outside of Reno mid afternoon.  It is a beautiful RV Park, everything you could want, EXCEPT it is not very pet friendly.  Every green area is AstroTurf and has a sign that says your dog should not "go" there.  There are two small dog areas for the whole park, 250 parking areas.  I would like to know how you can keep your pup from "going" wherever it wants to.  In any case, our dogs do not know how to read.

The following is a picture of some of the planes outside the Legends Shopping Mall, a huge area just a few blocks from the RV Park.

We went to the grocery store to buy a few supplies and then had a quick salad dinner out, and back to the trailer for the evening.  Tomorrow we will see what Reno is all about.

  1. Love the shoe tree. Is that a good city landscaping idea or what?!?!?! And oh, are you sure the dogs can't read? They seem so smart....
