This is the gorgeous pool area at Oasis RV Park in Las Vegas.  We got up early today and ate breakfast in the little cafe in the clubhouse here.  This was the view.  This is such a beautiful Park.  We would definitely stay here again.  (If it was not so bloody hot.)

Today is the day that Liz and Mike took us to Hoover Dam. This is one of the pictures they take of visitors and then insert the background of your choice.

The dam is an amazing structure.  We saw a movie of the construction and history and then we had a tour of the power plant.  If you walk halfway across the dam you cross the state line between Arizona and Nevada.  We didn't get that far as it was 104 degrees outside.  But we thought about it.

This is a diagram of the water flow through and around the dam.
Here is a view of beautiful Lake Mead but the water level is way down.  Notice the white water line.
Mike and Liz were the most gracious hosts.  We had such a good time together and are hoping they'll visit us in Portland soon.
Off to Williams, AZ tomorrow to get up close and personal with the Grand Canyon.
