On the road again!  We left yesterday, May 30, 2017 with our bucket-list destination of the Grand Canyon.  Macy, our granddaughter, says they should call it Grandma Canyon.  Good idea?

On Saturday I gave both dogs a bath.  Baby got some water up her nose and hasn't stopped coughing since so, I had to take her to the vet before we could leave.  He diagnosed pharyngitis and gave her an injection of a long-lasting antibiotic and a cough suppressant.   Last night he called us and said to get her some Robitussin and give it to her with a syringe. She is still coughing, so I have another call into him. Thank goodness, she doesn't do it when she is sleeping.  I hate this, poor Baby!

We left the Portland area heading for US 26 east, which goes over Mt. Hood.  It was a gray and cloudy day so we didn't get to see some of the best views, but we have seen them before.

On the way out of town we passed a new BBQ food cart in Damascus called Swine Dining.  Love that.  For those of you not familiar with Oregon, we also passed through the little town of Boring, OR.
Our two favorite passengers, Jazzy and Baby.
Inside the TrailBayser from the recliners in the front looking back to the bedroom.

Redmond, OR is a lovely small city in central Oregon.  It is dedicated to art.  This is a picture of the statue on the main highway entering town from the north.
Around the town square there are many other installations to be seen.

This one is in a separate park.
We had dinner at the Pig and Pound Pub.  Whenever we see a British pub we have to go for Gary.  This time he surprised me.  I had the Scotch Egg and he chose a roast beef sandwich over a Shepherd's Pie made of buffalo meat.  Usually he is more traditional, not that buffalo is traditional.

We are staying at the RV Park attached to the Deschutes County Fairground.  This is just the kind of park we like, even though the tree-lined parks are nice sometimes.  It has concrete slabs which make it easy to accomplish a level trailer.  This is important if you don't like rolling out of bed.  Also, there is grass so we can comfortably walk the dogs and not so much gravel and dirt that we are constantly vacuuming.

Gary is playing golf right now with old friends from his computer and travel agency days ,  Al and Ann Stewart.  We will meet up later to have dinner at their home.

  1. A good start. I hope Baby's cough has gone away with no after effects. Robitussin, huh? Never would have guessed. Don't let her get hooked on it. (hic) :-)
